GENERAL PURPOSE OF J O B : The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) Manager supervises organizes and directs the work o f the NNP's both at DCH and the units supported by the Neonatal Regionalization Support Program (NRSP) . The NNP Manager under general supervision organizes and directs the work of the NNP's and programs; coordinates staff to assure that effective NNP services are provided, and quality standards are met. Staffing consists of NNP's scheduled and as needed. The function of the NNP Manager is to develop and maintain an environment that supports the NNP's within the Driscoll Health System and its affiliates . Serve as a change agent to facilitate communication and transition that supports the mission of the o r g an i z a t i o n . - Assure coordination /participation of t he APNs on department and organization wide c o u n c il s / c o mm itt e e s . - Manage, supervise and coordinate delivery of patient care for assigned patient care area on a 24- h o u r basis . Ensure compliance with clinical patient care standards and established policies and p r o c e d u r e s . - Assist Director a d m i n i s t r a t i o n with maintaining clinical competencies f o r assigned clinical areas and provides care as n ee d e d . - Assess/coach and evaluate APN level of practice. Develop programs that foster continued clinical development to p o s i t i v e l y impact patient care and career satisfaction of A P N s . - Assist Director a d m i n i s t r a t i o n with maintaining required unit records, reports and statistics f o r administrative p u r p o s e s. - Ensures compliance with established hospital policies, procedures, objectives, quality control (POCT); PI , s a f e ty , environment and infection control. Communicate requirements to APNs and hold APNs accountable to established requirements. Coordinate the development, i m p l e m e n t a t i o n and evaluation of policies and procedures designed to improve operational efficiency. Assist with coordination of QC/PI activities with APNs . - Assist Director administration in overseeing various personnel actions including, but not l im it e d to, hiring, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions , terminations a n d other related activity . - Coordinate the activities of APNs with other hospital personnel ; accountable for the effective and efficient o p e r a t i o n o f the unit and staff including ensuring that orders, treatments, plans o f care, clinical pathways are being carried out in a manner supportive of patient care and recovery. Ensure documentation o f patient care is complete and accurate in accordance with hospital and unit policies and procedures . - Collaborate with the Director administrative team to determine fiscal requirements of the unit and assist with the preparation of budgetary recommendations . Monitor the level o f r e s o u r c es utilized in service delivery and determines the appropriateness of resource consumption i n the service.
