About the role
Sitting at the heart of our company's Sustainability & Energy Performance Strategy, this role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to play a central part in delivering one of the most critical energy ‑ reduction initiatives for 2026 and to develop strong technical experience as a member of a high ‑ performing, multidisciplinary operations and EHS team. We are seeking a Sustainability Intern (full ‑ time) to join our EHS & Operations organization located in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, supporting our journey to embed energy ‑ management best practices, reduce non ‑ productive energy consumption, and eliminate unnecessary loads through structured shutdown criteria. The intern will contribute to the development, documentation, and deployment of the site's standardized shutdown methodology for non ‑ operating equipment. Length of assignment: 3 months Your main tasks Work closely with the EHS Supervisor and Engineering team to support the development and execution of the Shutdown Methodology and Criteria for Non ‑ operating Equipment Programme , including equipment mapping, data collection, technical documentation, and validation of shutdown modes. Liaise with operations, maintenance, and reliability stakeholders to gather technical information, assess equipment behavior during idle periods, and identify opportunities to eliminate unnecessary energy loads, ensuring proper application of shutdown criteria across the site. Support day ‑ to ‑ day communication and engagement with operators, technicians, production leads, and cross ‑ functional teams, reinforcing correct shutdown practices, visual standards, and compliance with energy ‑ management procedures aligned with ISO 50001. Prepare communication materials for key energy ‑ performance initiatives (e.g., Energy Awareness Week, Preventive Shutdown Campaigns, World Energy Efficiency Day). Evaluate and manage non ‑ productive energy ‑ consumption data and compile easy ‑ to ‑ read reports, charts, and dashboards for EHS leadership and other relevant stakeholders.
