Mental Health Specialist Sitter- Virtual Observation, Full Time Variable

About the role

Responsible for sitting with assigned patients and works with the nurse to assist with patient safety as well as offer stimuli to the patient. Responsible for communicating with every person involved in the patient's care. Responsible for delivering customer service to the patient, staff and visitors. Utilizes crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed. Major Job Functions The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time: Cares for the patient in a manner that promotes safety, protects rights and preserves dignity that is conducive to a therapeutic environment Responds to needs of patients with direct assistance when able or by reporting patient needs to the appropriate person Assists in maintaining patient safety to include the proper use of equipment and supplies which may include restraints Participates in educational and Performance Improvement activities Promotes the patient's right to privacy Provides emotional support as appropriate Alerts nursing staff regarding escalating behavior that requires intervention and calls for assistance as needed Other duties as assigned
