Work With Us | Maricopa County, AZ We Require Three years of professional project management experience in facilities, roadway construction, or maintenance Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Urban Planning, Engineering, Business or Public Administration, or a closely related field A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis Other Requirements Successful candidates must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire. We Also Value One year of supervisory or lead experience Knowledge of the Cartegraph software program Contract management or procurement experience Job Contributions Direct the daily activities of assigned staff; perform field verification of staff work, including material and standards to meet appropriate specifications; coordinate and schedule staff, vehicles, and equipment; review the work of staff to assure the work quality and timely accomplishment of assigned duties and responsibilities; review and approve invoices for payment Manage and monitor over 35 Roadway Maintenance Division contracts for materials, supplies, and services (landscaping, sweeping, trash/debris removal, pavement markings, culvert cleaning, etc.) for expiration, requirements, extensions, changes needed, and compliance with statutes, policies, and best practices Work with employees to correct performance deficiencies, counsel, and implement discipline procedures as needed. Monitor data integrity of the Cartegraph database to support the asset management function of the division by reviewing staff data entry, project scheduling, and scopes of work; prepare reports based on division leadership needs; make recommendations for producing necessary data based on criticality, projections, planning, and cost Evaluate vendor proposals and assist in contractor selection, resolve vendor non-compliance concerns, and address other contract-related issues Meet with various levels of staff, including leadership, supervisors, field employees, contractors, and the public, to clearly communicate contract requirements, standards, and regulations Manage various special contracted projects, including scheduling, inspecting contracted work, and processing invoices Act as the point of contact for Roadway Maintenance Division crews requiring supplemental contract support, and coordinate with the Finance Division and the Office of Procurement Services to update and renew contracts Conduct site visits of contracted work, inspecting the quality of workmanship and design implementation; and taking measurements and performing necessary calculations to monitor progress on contracted work Other job duties as assigned Working Conditions Exerting 20 -
