About the role
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for leading process improvements in the manufacturing cells associated and production lines. This position will maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers. He/she will be responsible for the process flow and documentation of standard work as well as the design & validation of new tools, fixtures and machines. Besides this position will support site wide, and the Shop floor continuous improvement efforts within the two Value Streams in the whole plant. Critical Competencies - Demonstrated understanding of common manufacturing processes, equipment or machinery. - Ability to perform manufacturing analysis and estimate cost of labor, equipment, material and assembly capabilities. - Supports manufacturing process by troubleshooting and effective problem-solving analysis. - Drives continuous process improvements for sustainability in safety, quality, delivery, and productivity within the area of focus. - Ensure repeatability and reproducibility of production equipment, processes, testing and measurement and analytical equipment. - Compiles and writes training material and conducts training/ coaching sessions on manufacturing activities. - Champion the company's culture/ core values (teamwork, continuous improvement, performance measurement, integrity, personal responsibility). - Prepare Capital Appropriation Requests for new equipment, including cost justification and ROI calculations. - Research and evaluate new manufacturing technologies and processes, including automation and autonomation opportunities. - Conduct Standard Work (SW), as well as other Kaizen activities to improve stability of processes - Work with cross functional teams to solve and address problems that impact the manufacturing operation - Demonstrated proficiency with reading and understanding blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and performing complex mathematical calculations (including trigonometry). - Intermediate to advanced level proficiency with CAD and MS Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Willing and able to travel when it is necessary.
