The Medical College of Wisconsin's Adult Multispecialty Critical Care APP Fellowship Program is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide specialty medical care within the inpatient setting . This position is located in Milwaukee, WI at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital . The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Fellow works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching.

The Adult Multispecialty Critical Care APP Fellowship is an innovative one-year training program that teaches APP fellows to become highly skilled in the multidisciplinary, collaborative, and evidence-based management of complex and challenging patients in the critical care setting.
The curriculum is composed of multi-modal learning opportunities that may include the following: in-person didactics, online classrooms, simulation, proctored procedures, and/or mentored clinical rotations.
The APP fellow will have a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and ensure an environment of safe, quality care.
The Adult Multispecialty Critical Care APP fellow will have a variety of experiences caring for critically ill patients in intensive care units . These experiences include both general and specialty care for mixed medical and surgical patient populations . The APP fellow will also have the opportunity to rotate with inpatient services that support critically ill patients .
The Adult Multispecialty Critical Care APP fellow will work at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital and Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital , allowing for experience in both the academic and community setting .

Schedule:
1.0 FTE (full time)
Salaried (exempt)
APP fellows receive compensation during the program. APP fellow salary is $75,000 and paid out as per MCW standard. Taxes and deductions apply.
Typical schedule : Fellows can expect to work 8 to 13-hour shifts with variable start times by rotation, work both day and night shift and some weekends. Expected clinical hours 39 hours per week, with 5-8 hours of additional education.
Weekend and/or holiday requirements: Expected to work approximately every 3 rd weekend during ICU rotations. Expected to work up to 3 holidays per program year.
On call: None
Ability to pick up extra shifts: Moonlighting in the inpatient environment in second half of program .

The APP Adult Critical Care Fellowship is an innovative 12-month training program that teaches APP fellows to become highly skilled in the multidisciplinary, collaborative, and evidence-based management of complex and critically-ill patients in intensive care units. It attracts NPs and PAs seeking a structured educational program to support and guide their development of proficient clinical decision making and their application of specialized skills through hands on learning and diverse experiences in the care of the critically ill .
Fellows will have core rotations in critical care including ICU rotations in medicine, surgery and trauma, neurology , cardiovascular and transplant . Fellows complete acute care rotations in infectious disease, palliative care, interventional radiology, critical care nutrition, inpatient procedures, diabetes management, airway and elective rotat ions providing specialty health care services within defined scope of practice in collaboration with a licensed physician and in accordance with MCW/FMLH policies and procedures.
