The Senior SHEQ Officer will support the Sales Area West - Anglophone Territories in ensuring compliance and alignment with Sandvik's EHS Global standards, as well as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 9001 management systems Key Responsibilities Include Compliance of SAWA SHEQ policy, objectives to the strategic direction of the Sales Area. Periodic review of the management system to ensure suitability, adequacy, and relevance. Ensure that SHEQ management is documented in compliance with stated policies, implemented and maintained at all levels in the organization. Ensure the effective implementation of the Sandvik EHS Global procedures and major hazard standards including continual improvement of the management system. Ensure the identification, assessment and controlling of all potential workplace risk including environmental impact. Plan SHEQ audits including drawing up the SHEQ Audit Plan. Monitor the system by ensuring that internal audits are conducted according to the audit procedure and following up in resolving deviations from internal and external SHEQ audits. Ensure SHEQ training of workers. Ensure audits and inspections at suppliers and sub-contractors are conducted where necessary. Compile information for the SHEQ manager for annual SHEQ management review with the management team. Keep all relevant documented information including records. Ensure all Non-Conformances (EHS and Quality incidents) are investigated and institute corrective action and report to SHEQ manager on the status of NC's. Ensure compliance obligations and update the legal register and send to SHEQ Manager for review and approval as per procedure. Support departments in achieving SHEQ targets and meeting the SHEQ management system requirement as well as the Sandvik EHS Way of work Procedures. Provide information and communicate SMC SHEQ performance both internally and to the outside world. Develop implementing and overseeing SAWA SHEQ programmes that safeguard employees and surrounding communities. Ensure that all facilities follow relevant regulations. Promotes positive EHS Culture and 'ZERO HARM' objective. Collate SHEQ data, loading and reviewing of data in EHS 360 as required. Active and practical emergency procedures are available and communicated to all relevant stake holders Qualification & Competencies Degree in Natural Sciences, Engineering, Safety, Environment, or related fields. Proven competence in ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards. In-depth knowledge of Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Legislations. Certificate of Competence in First Aid. Proven Computer literacy in Microsoft Office. Not less than 5 years' working experience in relevant field. English proficiency.
