Student Support - Assists students individually with academic concerns, questions, registration issues, and connects students to available University resources.
Admissions and Outreach - Interact with various academic outreach functions, including but not limited to: New Student Orientation, Commencement, UT Girl Day, Parent's Weekend and their related activities. Serve on committees - Cockrell School Recruiting and campus-wide Admissions and Registration.
Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree plus six years of experience working with students in an academic capacity OR
Bachelor's degree plus eight years of experience working with students in an academic capacity
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
Ability to interact professionally with staff, students, and the public
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities

The Academic Advising Coordinator for the McKetta Department of Chemical Engineering provides leadership and oversight for the department's academic advising and student support functions, ensuring effective delivery of services that promote student success. This role manages the advising unit, including supervision of staff, program development, and implementation of advising initiatives, while also overseeing course scheduling, curriculum processes, and key academic operations. The coordinator supports data-driven decision-making through reporting and program assessment and manages undergraduate academic support programs, including tutoring, peer advising, and student development courses. This position serves as a primary resource for students and faculty on academic matters, contributes to admissions and outreach efforts, and ensures compliance with university policies and accreditation requirements.
