The Toronto office of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG), Canada's leading, innovative and client-focused law firm, is seeking an: Associate - Disputes (Construction) The candidate will have an opportunity to join Canada's largest construction law group and work along side professionals recognized for their extensive and in-depth industry experience. We are looking for The ideal candidate will have a minimum 4 - 6 years experience in construction and infrastructure law, be a team player, take great pride in their work, and have strong analytical, personal, oral and written communication skills. This role will offer the successful candidate the following opportunities: Acting on behalf of sureties, owners, contractors, subcontractors in disputes arising from public and private construction and infrastructure projects. Advising sureties on multi‑project and large‑scale defaults and insolvencies, working collaboratively with lawyers across multiple practice areas. Drafting, advising and negotiating contracts for procurement and construction. Advising on a broad range of construction issues such as breach of contract, breach of trust and construction liens. Being a team member of a busy national construction group. Career advancement and development with numerous client-facing responsibilities.
