About the role
This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to Fisher House located on JBSA Lackland.. This is a Regular Part-Time category position with guaranteed 20 hrs/wk. May work up to 40 hrs/wk. Work schedule varies based on facility needs and includes weekends and/or holidays. Employees appointed to regular category positions are eligible for benefits. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have housekeeping and customer service experience. Must have computer proficiency in automated systems. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Practical knowledge and/or experience with rules and procedures in a DAFFH preferred. 2. Applicants with experience which provides a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in Fisher House or lodging facilities preferred. 3. Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing. 4. Ability to perform housekeeping, light maintenance and grounds keeping (i.e., painting, replacing light bulbs, AC filters, repairing light furniture damage). 5. Practical knowledge and/or experience with hazardous chemicals, pest control and bio-hazardous materials. 6. Ability to occasionally lift and carry objects weighing 50 lbs. and with assistance for objects weighing over 50 lbs. Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and reach for a long period of time. **NOTE: Those qualified applicants who meet both the minimum qualification requirement(s) and highly preferred criteria(s) will be considered best qualified for this position and will be referred to the selecting official(s) first for consideration.
