About the role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Maintenance Manager to join our large Shovels Mine Equipment Maintenance team. This role is accountable for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all maintenance activities, including overseeing teams, optimizing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and ensuring consistent equipment performance. Responsibilities
- Monitor equipment health and drive performance against key maintenance KPIs such as downtime, mean time between failures ((MTBF), backlog, schedule compliance and cost
- Ensure inspections, repair quality, and maintenance practices meet OEM, site, and regulatory standards
- Manage workforce performance and labour relations in a unionized environment, including attendance, coaching, and issue resolution
- Coordinate workforce planning and crew utilization to align resources with maintenance priorities
- Lead outages, major repairs, and component change-outs, ensuring effective coordination of scope, labour, parts, tooling, and contractors
- Partner with reliability, planning, operations, and technical teams to deliver safe, efficient, and executable maintenance plans
- Location and other Key details:
- You will work out of our Base Plant site in Fort McMurray, Alberta
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
- This position is safety sensitive
- If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory. Relocation support will be provided; we offer competitive housing assistance to eligible individuals
