NYS CoQ in transfusion services and immunohematology
3+ years post-fellowship experience strongly preferred
Laboratory management experience in a multi-hospital system strongly preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Additional leadership opportunities and/or responsibilities commensurate with training, experience, and academic interest, including participation in translational or clinical research.
Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain New York State Certificates of Qualification for Medical Directorship. Academic appointment to the Albert Einstein College of Medicine is commensurate with credentials and experience.
Annual salary is in the range of $250,000-$400,000 and is dependent on years of experience, including previous leadership roles.

Transfusion Medicine Director
The Department of Pathology is seeking an experienced M.D. or M.D. / Ph.D. to join the Transfusion Medicine Division at Montefiore Medical Center and affiliate hospitals. Candidates must be board certified in CP or AP/CP and in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine and have laboratory management experience.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Overseeing transfusion medicine and blood banking services at MMC and/or affiliated hospitals.
- Delivering complex transfusion consultations, overseeing apheresis procedures, and providing support for complex coagulation conditions.
- Supporting and enhancing patient blood management initiatives.
- Collaborating with institutional leadership, physician colleagues, and nursing teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Participating in the teaching of medical students and residents, as well as in departmental conferences and grand rounds.
- Contributing to the development of policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, as well as accreditation requirements.
- Participating in transfusion-related quality initiatives and process improvements.
- Providing on-call and service coverage.
