About the role
The Recreational Therapist will be responsible for implementing therapeutic recreational activities for all psychiatry inpatients and PHP patients under general supervision as well as working in the Child Life Zone providing activities for patients and siblings. This includes program planning, treatment implementation and documentation. The therapist will function as a member of the interdisciplinary team to deliver an integrated plan of care. Hours: Will provide weekend coverage (Friday evenings & Sat/Sun days 7 - 3:30pm or 8 - 4:30pm) Required Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy (or) Recreation from an accredited college or university. Master's Degree preferred. 1 year of experience performing recreational therapy work in the treatment of patients required. Pediatric and psychiatric experience preferred. Experience/Training in Experiential Therapy preferred. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification: Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist preferred. BLS or must be completed within 60 days of start date. CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - Units 1-7 & 9-10 plus the CPI Children's Control Position from Unit 8 or must be completed within 60 days of start date.
