The Sr. Engineer Analyst position will provide critical technical and engineering support related to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) NextGen (now part of The Airspace Modernization Office)-required by the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024, responsible for modernizing the National Airspace System (NAS), including planning, research and development, systems engineering, and portfolio management. The Sr Analyst will work as part of a team supporting this research and development which safety studies, technical reviews and data collection to further the Remote Tower program development, installation and implementation. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to obtain a customer clearance for access to facilities, equipment, and property. Highly motivated, well organized, reliable and results-oriented aviation professional; must be able to grasp and apply new concepts quickly. Background in systems engineering, business processes and analytics, project management, and collaborative problem-solving skills to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables is strongly encouraged. Strong attention to details, with the ability to drill down into very tactical considerations to ensure accuracy in deliverables, define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Excellent communication skills and presentation skills. High Emotional intelligence - able to build productive & positive working relations with co-workers with varying technical & business backgrounds. Growth and agile mindset with solid work ethics, embracing diversity. Up to 50% travel across the United States. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Has a strong understanding of and background in engineering with prior FAA NextGen experience preferred. Assists with the development and updates to Concept of Operations (Conops) documentation in support of the Remote Tower concept. Advanced computer skills, knowledge of FAA practices and Microsoft Tools including Project Management skills a plus. Technical experience regarding installation of hardware components and software implementation at remote site locations designate by FAA management. Ability to quickly grasp futuristic aviation concepts to create briefings and papers as needed. Good understanding of technology management and project management principles and how they apply to research and development initiatives. Ability to work independently and within a team environment and take on multiple roles distilling and integrating inputs from multiple sources, working with minimal supervision, and also remain flexible serving as a collaborative team-player, familiar with FAA organizations and how they work together to maintain highest levels of safety and efficiency in the skies. Must be able/willing to take on new challenges, execute in small windows of time, and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment to operate proactively anticipating problems, solutions, and support needs. Must possess engagement and collaboration skills, and the ability to conduct activities seamlessly in a virtual on in-person environment. Provides analytical support including, but not limited to, conduct of analytical studies with the documentation and presentation of results to various audiences. Competent at preparing and delivering cohesive presentations designed to meet the goals and objectives of the subject and fulfills audience needs. Develops working papers, information papers, and various presentations. Reviews, verifies, and makes recommendations for improvements to vendor deliverables such as technical plans and statement of work. Understanding of missions, and roles and responsibilities of FAA lines of business. Understanding of Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) and Remote Tower operations. Familiarity with, or ability to quickly grasp, with the FAA's Safety Risk
