The primary role of the Receiving Clerk is to ensure that all storeroom-related needs of the internal and external customers are met in a manner that meets or exceeds the hotel specifications and standards. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee, coordinate, and track all receiving and distribution. Manage inventory levels, and track costs. Assist with loading dock, arriving deliveries / vendors and dock cleanliness. Maintain correct storage of all items; perform monthly inventory. Input, access, and retrieve information on computer systems. Unpack and inspect items received. Strictly adhere to the operating hours of the storeroom. Maintain cleanliness of the storeroom. Follow up on out-of-stock and items not received. Verify that no requisitions are left open. Track receiving of goods, maintain records and complete paperwork, maintain clean work area. REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to communicate with hotel guests, suppliers, and colleagues to their understanding. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to provide legible communication. Must be able to complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner. Working knowledge of all storeroom equipment. Ability to prioritize tasks. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a colleague to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: Must be able to lift equipment, supplies, etc. of at least 30 pounds; push and pull equipment, supplies, ext. at least 75 pounds. Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear. Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms; frequently required to sit, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure. The role may require extended periods of time on your feet, especially during peak hotel hours or events. Clear vision is important for reading reports, analyzing data, and overseeing Concierge activities. Good hearing is necessary for effective communication with colleagues, guests, and stakeholders.
