The Phlebotomy Instructor will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive phlebotomy training programs to students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in phlebotomy techniques, IV techniques, laboratory procedures, and instructional methodologies. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to motivate and engage students, and a commitment to promoting a positive learning environment. This role is onsite, in person instruction. Applications for part-time faculty positions are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed when openings become available. Job Description/Essential Duties Develop curriculum and instructional materials for phlebotomy courses, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulations. Deliver engaging and interactive classroom lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on training sessions on phlebotomy techniques, safety procedures, and specimen handling. Provide one-on-one guidance and support to students, including constructive feedback on performance and progress. Organize and oversee practical skills labs and simulation experiences to reinforce learning objectives. Evaluate student comprehension and proficiency through assessments, quizzes, practical exams, and other evaluation methods. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and lab activities. Stay current with advancements in phlebotomy practices, equipment, and technologies to ensure program content remains up-to-date. Collaborate with other faculty members and administrative staff to enhance the overall educational experience for students. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student success, professionalism, and ethical conduct. Rate of Pay: $765 per credit hour Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Should be able to work effectively with employees and all levels of leadership within the institution. Comprehensive understanding of venipuncture and capillary puncture procedures, including proper equipment selection, vein selection, blood collection, and specimen handling. Proficiency in the anatomy and physiology of the circulatory system, including knowledge of blood composition, vascular anatomy, and potential complications related to venipuncture. Familiarity with safety regulations, and quality assurance measures related to specimen collection, processing, and transportation. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and biohazard safety precautions to minimize the risk of contamination and transmission of infectious diseases. Understanding of regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and best practices governing phlebotomy procedures, including HIPAA regulations, CLIA guidelines, and OSHA standards.
