Maintain product documentation (drawings and specifications)

Corrosion research and welding characterization & has a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, mechanics, fluid, thermos and heat transfer
Advanced knowledge of basic electrical circuits, microelectronic assembly, statistical methods, process control fundamentals and product test processes
Familiarity with manufacturing methods - welding, brazing, soldering, adhesive bonding, machining, stamping, molding, and forming. Basic knowledge of core manufacturing processes
Lead mechanical design activities while participating in cross-functional New Product Development (NPD) teams
Assist with design prototype builds and production validation activities in collaboration with manufacturing, quality, and supply
Familiarity with design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation in support of manufacturing operations such as machining, metal forming, plastics processing, welding and brazing, assembly, and material handling.

Additional Information
The Launch Engineer is responsible for developing or modifying manufacturing processes to increase product performance, improve manufacturing efficiency and boost profits. This position works closely with design engineers, equipment vendors, program managers, marketing, and quality engineers to support the development of new electromechanical products. They are responsible for providing the overall process design and suggesting measures to improve product design for manufacturability. This includes the development of new equipment and process flows as well as developing cost estimates for labor and capital. They will also provide ongoing support to production lines at our global make sites.
General Responsibilities
- Leads the implementation and maintenance of methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacturing or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies
- Collaborates with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products
- Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines
- Leads records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations
- Plans and designs manufacturing processes in an industrial plant
