The Lead Diesel Mechanic is a key member of the Service Department, responsible for ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through advanced technical expertise in the repair and maintenance of medium- and heavy-duty trucks and trailers. This role performs diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and complex repairs while ensuring work is completed efficiently and to high-quality standards. The position requires the ability to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair critical vehicle systems including brakes, suspension, steering, hydraulics, engines, electrical systems, HVAC, fuel and air intake systems, and more, ensuring all equipment operates safely and reliably. The Lead Diesel Mechanic also collaborates effectively with internal teams, vendors, and customers while maintaining a professional work environment. Required Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of technical experience in automotive or medium/heavy-duty truck repair Demonstrated ability to supervise and train shop personnel, ensuring safe use of tools and compliance with safety standards Strong technical and product knowledge, including use of diagnostic software for engine codes Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office and the ability to learn internal systems Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and follow-through skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Self-motivated team player with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and customer service Professional demeanor and conduct at all times Valid New York State Driver's License
