2+ years of experience working with polyurethane foams and/or composite systems.
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or equivalent work experience.
Working knowledge of molded foam process equipment.
Ability to formulate flexible polyurethane foam systems.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of computer programs (email, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and project management tools).
Willingness to travel up to 30%.

Technical Service Engineer - Automotive
Huntsman is seeking a Technical Service Engineer - Autom otive supporting the Polyurethanes Division located in Auburn Hills, MI. This position will report to the Technical Manager.
Job Scope
The Technical Service Engineer - Automotive is responsible for providing technical support to customers and sales staff in the area of polyurethane foam and composite systems. The role serves as the primary technical interface with customers, supporting product development, troubleshooting, and process optimization to meet customer requirements.
The Technical Service Engineer works closely with internal teams and customers to execute trials, support product applications, and contribute to the development of new products, ensuring alignment with Huntsman's safety and operational standards.
In summary, as a Technical Service Engineer - Automotive, you will:
Serve as the customer's technical advisor and primary point of contact within the company.
Train customers on how to process polyurethane systems safely and effectively.
Prepare and blend samples ranging from one gallon to tote-sized quantities for trials.
Develop project and trial plans, including objectives, detailed actions, milestones, and resource management.
Run in-house trials on high-pressure foam machines.
Conduct and document customer projects and trials.
Document customer baseline processes for development and troubleshooting purposes.
Troubleshoot material and process issues at customer sites.
Adjust formulations to meet evolving customer requirements.
Support Account Managers in developing and executing account strategies.
Assist Development Chemists by providing customer insights and acting as the voice of the customer in product development.
Operate and maintain assigned process and laboratory equipment.
Conduct all activities in compliance with Huntsman's Environmental, Health, and Safety policies.
Provide backup support to other Technical Service Engineers.
Actively contribute as a key member of the technical team.
