About the role

The Mattel Ecommerce team is building global, best‑in‑class digital destinations that connect fans to the brands they love, deepen fandom, and drive long‑term consumer value. As Mattel Creations continues to scale its direct‑to‑consumer business, community will play a critical role in driving engagement, loyalty, advocacy, and insight. The Community Management Associate is responsible for the day‑to‑day management of Mattel Creations' community ecosystem, spanning owned, earned, and emerging platforms. This role will support how Mattel shows up for fans, turning collectors and creators into active participants and brand advocates. This role partners closely with Merchandising, Marketing, Loyalty, Brand and Customer Service to ensure community is deeply integrated into the Mattel Creations experience and lifecycle. What Your Impact Will Be: Community Operations Manage the day‑to‑day operations of Mattel Creations community channels, including owned and earned community experiences, with a focus on Reddit and support for existing Discord communities. Engage with moderators and fans in a timely, professional, and human tone while upholding brand standards. Moderate discussions, respond to questions, and escalate issues in partnership with Customer Service. Develop and maintain community guidelines, moderation standards, and engagement best practices. Content & Activation Execute content calendars aligned to drops and brand moments. Support community‑driven activations such as polls, fan features, AMAs, and feedback opportunities. Partner with Brand, Social, and Marketing teams to ensure alignment and consistency across channels. Provide input into paid and organic strategies using community insights, particularly on Reddit. Measurement & Insights Track and report on community performance, including engagement, sentiment, and recurring themes. Surface actionable insights to inform marketing, product, and customer experience decisions. Continuously refine engagement approaches based on performance and fan feedback. Requirements

  • 2+ years in community management or social media management.
  • Hands‑on community management across owned and earned platforms, including Reddit; familiarity with Discord or similar community platforms a plus.
  • Working knowledge of social listening or community intelligence tools (e.g., Brandwatch, Sprout Social, Talkwalker, or similar).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work cross‑functionally with multiple teams.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment when managing high‑engagement or sensitive fan interactions.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.
  • Passion for fandom, community building, and consumer‑centric brands.
