About the role
Behavioral Health consists of Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program in Erie VAMC and Community Based Outpatient clinics. The Administrative Officer (AO) has been delegated as first line contact for administrative oversight of this position. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-04 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Clerical, administrative, and program support and performing standard procedures in an office setting; skill in using a variety of computer programs (including Word, Excel, Outlook) to create documents, develop and compile data to prepare reports and complete other similar tasks; Provide administrative and logistic support in the office environment (ordering supplies, data entry, scheduling meetings, reserving rooms, etc.); pay close attention to detail and providing customer service; basic knowledge of the timekeeping system (VATAS) and/or purchase card holder tasks and knowledge of VISTA and CPRS systems are needed. OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have completed four (4) years of education ABOVE high school in any field. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. You MUST submit transcripts - official or unofficial - with your application if you are attempting to qualify based on education. OR, Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond 4 years above high school. Only education in excess of the first 60 semesters hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 month of specialized experience.
