Responsibilities

  • Essential Job Functions & Tasks
  • Review, process, and interpret communication with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure proposed activities comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including project-specific management plans and license requirements.
  • Interpret and apply environmental regulatory requirements such as those including, but not limited to (FERC), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, state environmental agencies, local governments, etc.
  • Maintain records and documentation to demonstrate compliance with applicable project license requirements.
  • Conduct on-site inspections of property within project boundaries to assess compliance.
  • Perform routine monitoring and document findings.
  • Coordinate with contractors on compliance-related projects required by a project's FERC license, or other compliance requirements from other governing agencies.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and primary point of contact for FERC compliance-related inquiries from federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
  • Represent the company in meetings with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, non-governmental organizations, and community stakeholders.
  • Participate in public outreach, educational sessions, and stakeholder meetings to promote awareness and understanding of compliance related activities.

Requirements

  • Education requirements are listed below:
  • Bachelors Degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience.
  • Work Experience requirement listed below:
  • One to two years of experience in environmental regulatory compliance
  • Certifications:
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Other preferences:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use a computer and Microsoft Office Suite proficiently.
  • Proficient technical acumen.
  • A customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work independently in the field and in a team environment. Ability to work in the field or in an office environment. Fieldwork may involve walking uneven terrain, exposure to outdoor conditions, and occasional use of boats.
  • Comfort engaging with the public and presenting information in meetings.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to field locations as needed for day trips. Travel time will average less than 10%.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for overnight trips, as needed. Travel time will average less than 10%.
  • Ability to work occasional evening or weekend hours for public meetings, stakeholder engagement, or site inspections.
  • Detail-oriented regarding compliance activities, documentation, and communication.
