As part of the Middle Office & Risk team, you support the analysis, monitoring, and reporting of counterparty exposures across a broad range of energy and financial products. In your role, you combine analytical thinking with a strong understanding of markets, financial data, and risk management processes. You work closely with internal stakeholders across Hamburg and London and contribute to maintaining a robust risk framework in a dynamic international trading environment. Your tasks in a nutshell: Analyse counterparties: You assess financial data and evaluate the creditworthiness of counterparties across trading and sales activities. Manage credit processes: You prepare new credit line requests and periodic counterparty reviews in line with internal Credit Risk policies. Monitor risk exposure: You develop and maintain daily and monthly counterparty risk reports and monitor risk limits across trading books. Maintain systems & data: You ensure consistency between counterparty databases, ETRM systems, and internal reporting structures. Support risk mitigation: You engage with insurance providers and evaluate collateral and security structures to reduce counterparty risks. Drive improvements: You contribute to the continuous enhancement of reporting, workflows, controls, and analytical processes within Credit Risk. What helps you to fulfil this role: Education: A university degree in Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, Physics, Information Technology, or a comparable field. Professional experience: Relevant experience within a trading company, financial institution, or risk management environment; exposure to energy commodities is an advantage. Risk expertise: Understanding of counterparty analysis, credit risk measurement concepts, and rating methodologies. Analytical skills: Strong affinity for data and the ability to interpret, challenge, and communicate financial information effectively. Systems knowledge: Good knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Excel; experience with Power BI, analytical tools, or ETRM systems such as RightAngle is a plus. Languages: Business fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken.
