Responsibilities
- Safely operate prototype-level Autonomous Vehicles on both defined and undefined routes, including a variety of geographic and environmental conditions
- Operate in-vehicle data recording computers, including start/stop recording, data marking and minor debugging when issues arise

- Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspection of the Autonomous Vehicle. This includes conducting an external/internal visual inspection of the vehicle and testing all necessary equipment, operating devices and controls
- Properly care for assigned vehicle and all components as prescribed by the Company
- As needed: Completes accident and incident reports
- Control and manage emergency situations according to company procedures
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Able to work in a team environment and drive with another person. Maintain cooperative behavior towards fellow team members, leads, supervisors, and managers
- Familiar with ride-hailing practices and ability to successfully interact and engage with members of the public
Requirements
- Candidates must have and maintain a clean driving record for the previous 3 years and no DUIs for previous 10 years
- Prior experience as an Operator/Driver for Autonomous Vehicles, including some type of internal or external training on
- Autonomous Vehicle technology is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalency
- The position may require some travel
- Experience and training on providing subjective feedback on vehicle behaviors and environment
- Must be able to successfully complete in-house driving course/examination
- Local knowledge in test city of streets, geography and environmental features that may be challenging for Autonomous Vehicles
- Able to work days, nights and weekends
- Must be able to use company communication systems and communicate clearly and effectively both written and verbal
- Must be able to read a map and possess knowledge of the Pittsburgh area
- Minimum of Five (5) years of overall licensed driving experience
- Bonus Points (not required):
- Basic working-knowledge of Autonomous Vehicle technology
- Experience with NHTSA Levels 2-5 Autonomous Vehicles preferred
