About this roleWhat a day of a Head Coach, Baseball looks like:Instructs student athletes in the rules and fundamentals of their declared sport, this includes instruction of physical health, team concepts, sportsmanship and safety.Coaches, plans and schedules games, practices, scrimmages, workouts, team meetings, player and parent conferences, and study halls. Monitors and evaluates performance of assistant coaches and volunteers.Instructs students in the classroom, online, or through program management, in accordance with educational theories and techniques. Develops discipline related curricula, assess student learning, and participates in program evaluation.
Executes recruitment plan, travel arrangements, facility needs, and equipment needs.
Manages budget, equipment inventory, player conduct, player eligibility and compliance, and student housing.
Develops and promotes activities to engage the college community; works closely with Athletic Director and College Foundation to create fundraising opportunities and generate revenue.
Coordinates and communicates student athlete admission, testing, financial aid, orientation, advisement, registration and graduation with appropriate department(s); works closely with faculty on player progress.
Advises students on college related matters, and counsel them regarding their adaptability to a college environment.
Promotes and markets the PBSC athletics programs across the college and in the community. Supports and participates in special projects to promote student retention and completion.
Adheres to established guidelines and rules of the college, FCSAA, and NJCAA.
Participates in local, state, and national professional development training.
Contributes, implements, assesses, and reports learning outcomes for department. Compiles and reviews state and national reports; publicize statistics, assist with web page promotion.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree
Two years of related athletic coaching experience, to include supervisory experience
Knowledge of:
Policies, rules, and regulations of the FCSAA and NJCAA
Microsoft Office Professional or similar application
Skilled in:
Developing and motivating student athletes academically and athletically
Motivating student athletes to apply the effort necessary to attain goals
Strategic thinking including effective planning, setting goals, monitoring progress, tracking results and making appropriate adjustments to plans based on circumstances and context
Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers
Customer service, with the ability to build relationships, manage expectations and take responsibility for a high level of service
Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management
Ability to:
Travel for scheduled games, tournaments, scrimmages, workouts, and recruitment of student athletes
Maintain effective working relationships
Interact in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public
Demonstrate critical thinking and interpersonal skills
Work with diverse populations and varying education levels
Organize and prioritize multiple, competing priorities to maximize personal and team effectiveness
