About the role
The main focus of the Workday Support team is to support the delivery of HR services and solutions to Markel by using existing and emerging technologies across all HR systems - including Core HR System, Learning Management, and AI-enabled platforms. The Specialist will solve issues, answer employee questions, and translate sophisticated technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance. Acting as a trusted advisor, the Specialist provides guidance to HR teams on technology utilization, ensures inclusive access to systems, and fosters a culture of digital fluency. The role also supports change management and testing, collaborates with global HR teams and business partners on pivotal initiatives, and contributes to the implementation of innovative solutions. By monitoring industry trends, engaging in continuous professional development, and role modelling a culture of digital fluency, the Sr. HR Technology Specialist supports the HR function in delivering innovative, efficient, and people-centred solutions.
Responsibilities
- Cross-coordination of ServiceNow and HR technology system tasks, ticket management, incident triage. Collaborate with functional and technical staff on the resolutions, process changes, and change management. Advise and help maintaining all the procedural documentation and tickets handling map.
- Maintain functional and technical expertise to support Workday Support team including monitoring tickets to investigate and re-assign or resolve requests and incidents related to HR systems and operations. Deliver high quality customer service to ensure needs are met.
- Develop and maintaining the HR system-related sites, job aids, reference materials, process documentation, develop and deliver training content. Propose process or system improvements, streamline, or simplifications.
- Scan, evaluate, and pilot emerging HR technologies. Support business cases and lightweight proof-of-concepts. Recommend process simplification and tech-enabled enhancements to improve efficiency and experience.
- Schedule existing reports. Creation of new basic-reports with and without confidential data with oversight as needed by Security Administrators. Administration of confidentiality agreements as needed and by request as appropriate per business use case within governance and compliance framework.
