Bachelor's Degree of Science in Mechanical Engineering required
Experience with 3D modeling CAD software
Self-motivated and works well in a collaborative design culture
Good written and oral communication skills
Desire to work hand-on, prototype and troubleshoot proactively.
Prior Co-op / Internship experience
Experience with SolidWorks and/or 3DX
Exposure to Failure Analysis, FEA, DRBFM, FMEA, DOE, and DFMA
Ability to apply engineering principles, i.e. fluid, mechanical, and thermal
Interpretation of statistics related to manufacturing processes and part design
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Tolerance stack-up and analysis

Fortune Brands is hiring for an Associate Product Development Engineer to join our Product Development & Innovation team in North Olmsted, OH. Collaboratively improve products that elevate every life by transforming spaces into havens. You will improve the designs of existing products to make them more robust and cost effective using engineering best practices. You will also have the opportunity to define the overall product platform designs and rules for our product lines responsible for product development from ideate through launch.
During the process, you will use analytical and empirical engineering methods to ensure that product designs meet all User, Business, and Compliance requirements.
Location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule working out of our North Olmsted, OH office. Remote days are Monday and Friday.
RESPONSIBLIITIES:
Develop innovative new products and extend current product lines
Work together with team members to develop capable, cost-effective manufacturing and assembly processes concurrent to product design activities to ensure robust designs are delivered
Problem solving and failure analysis using engineering analysis tools
Actively participate in Design Reviews / DFM / DFA for new products
Proactively compile, prepare and present data for timely project updates and technical presentations
