POSITION SUMMARY:
Seamstress/Seamer is responsible for the repair and alteration of uniforms to ensure a high standard of dress presentation, to oversee the fit and measure of staff uniform fittings, and to liaise with Wardrobe team members regarding examinations of manufactured uniforms to ensure quality construction and fabric suitability.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Utilise specialised skills maintaining a high standard of production and continuity
Inspect uniform items to determine mending, altering or replacement requirements
Fit and measure of new and existing staff uniform fittings
Maintain computer system, recording alterations, damaged stock, uniform construction
Recycle damaged uniform items to assist Wardrobe supplies eg. Logos, buttons, zips, re-usable fabric
Liaise with Supervisors in regards to all necessary information relevant to the operations of the seamstress area to ensure an efficient service department
Maintain a professional working relationship within the Wardrobe Department and to all fellow employees
Support the future development of the department adapting new concepts and work practices to improve the standard of service and professionalism within the Wardrobe Department
Perform related duties as requested by Supervisors, Wardrobe
Adhere to all Company policies and procedures
Report accidents, injuries, unsafe work conditions and / or security issues to supervisors
Perform other reasonable job duties as assigned by supervisors from time to time
