About the role
We are seeking a Sr. Operations Specialist, RadCon to join our team supporting the Los Alamos National Laboratory ! This position is full-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical opinions on Radiation Protection issues.
- Support design, construction, startup, operations, and maintenance activities in high-hazard systems.
- Integrate Radiation Protection requirements into work planning and execution.
- Perform independent technical reviews and assessments of RP programs and field work.
- Provide guidance to project teams on complex technical and safety issues.
- Interface with management and customer representatives.
- Lead and coordinate project teams across functional organizations.
- Supervise senior personnel within the project organization.
- Develop and enforce work standards, schedules, and quality expectations.
- Communicate organizational goals, policies, and procedures to staff and teams.
Requirements
- Citizenship - To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.
- Clearance - To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
- Experience in a DOE Category 2 nuclear facility or equivalent high-hazard nuclear environment.
- Strong background in Radiation Protection and work control systems.
- U.S. Nuclear Navy experience, DOE plutonium facility experience, and strong Conduct of Operations (ConOps) knowledge.
