Job Summary: Job Description: PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Cybersecurity Engineer in Austin, TX Job Duties: Analyze and resolve security challenges by adapting standard processes and exploring alternative approaches to address complex threats. Establish operational workflow around application security vulnerabilities. Determine the impact of vulnerabilities in the environment and communicate them to stakeholders across the company. Implement and configure vulnerability management platforms/application security posture management platforms. Locate patterns in the data that point to root causes that unlock mitigation opportunities. Collaborate with other engineers to gather and incorporate feedback, driving continuous improvements in security processes. Drive security initiatives, contribute to cross-functional projects, and at times co-lead efforts to strengthen security posture. Report to the Senior Manager, Threat Exposure Management and provide updates on critical vulnerabilities and overall posture. Work with TEM/Product Security leadership to maintain the forward-looking roadmap for the team, including defining and monitoring performance against Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), planning new capabilities, evaluating vendors, and individual career development plans. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer and Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a closely related field such as Electrical Engineering, plus five years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Special Skill Requirements: 1. Ruby, Java, Python, JavaScript, or Swift (2 years) 2. Actioning results of vulnerability scanning tools, such as: SAST, API security scanners, and software composition analysis, including driving vulnerability management lifecycle for these scan results including communication with software developers, remediation engineering and reporting to leadership. (5 years) 3. Experience working in a large enterprise environment (2 years) 4. Experience in identifying and remediating common application security vulnerabilities such as OWASP Top 10 and deep understanding of web application and mobile app vulnerabilities (5 years) 5.
