Machine Setup and Operation: Independently set up, program, and operate CNC machines to produce complex components.
Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for each job.
Quality Assurance: Monitor and adjust machine settings to ensure precision and adherence to specified tolerances.
Conduct thorough inspections of finished products to verify conformance to design and quality standards.
Programming and Troubleshooting: Develop and modify CNC programs using MasterCAMor FUSION 360 software .
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tooling, programming, or machine malfunctions.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Comply with quality control procedures and industry standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and design teams to interpret specifications and ensure accurate machining processes.
Provide input on process improvements and efficiency enhancements.
Continuous Professional Development: Stay updated on industry trends, cutting-edge technologies, and machining best practices to perpetually elevate skills and contribute to the growth of the team.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
There are no direct supervisory responsibilities assigned to this position; however, the incumbent is expected to provide coaching and mentoring to less-experienced machinists.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Strong knowledge of MasterCAM software.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD models.
Foundation knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Working knowledge of SolidWorks software.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
BCTQ Machinist Red Seal certification with a focus on CNC machining.
Four (4) year experience as a red seal Machinist
Applicants must be legally able to work in Canada on a permanent basis (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident).
