AECOM's Buildings + Places business line is dedicated to design excellence and integrated project delivery solutions with expertise including architecture, interiors, engineering, development, workplace strategy, economic planning, master planning, project management, and construction services. We interface and collaborate with our Transportation, Water, Environment and Advisory business lines daily. Our B+P Boston studio is a dynamic, energetic environment that provides industry-leading design projects in aviation, transit, science, government and higher education markets. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
Responsible for initiating and developing design and construction document drawings through completion for assigned projects in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by the project's discipline leaders
Under some supervision, may complete design assignments of moderate complexity. Analyzes issues and identifies solutions using existing techniques, and proposes approaches for novel issues. Exercises independent judgement in determining how work is performed
Involved in client-facing interactions including presentations, meetings, answering questions, following up on issues
Utilize familiarity with codes, permits, and software applications related to the discipline
Introduced to the process of preparing designs, presentations and drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards and procedures
Utilize your intermediate understanding of the purpose and use of vendor documents
Meet deadlines and work within budget constraints, with understanding of the range of materials and labor costs
Interact with the construction process - change orders, RFIs, quality review, etc.
Assemble FF&E packages
Adhere to quality control procedures and tactics
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Architecture or Interior Design plus four (4) of experience in Interior Design or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience
Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Rhino, Sketch-up, and/or other 3D modeling and rendering software
