Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Master's Degree or Doctorate in Nursing Practice required
Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) required
Current North Carolina NP/APRN and RN licensure required
DEA license and prescriptive authority required
BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
Physician Assistant Candidates
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
NCCPA certification required/preferred
CAQ certification preferred
Current North Carolina PA licensure required
One or more years of Psychiatry or Behavioral Health experience preferred
Strong clinical judgment and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary behavioral health team

Advocate Health Behavioral Health Outpatient Medication Services is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) specializing in Psychiatry to join our outpatient behavioral health team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This position offers the opportunity to provide compassionate, patient-centered psychiatric care for patients through the lifespan within a collaborative multidisciplinary practice environment.

Services Provided
Behavioral Health Outpatient Medication Services provide comprehensive outpatient behavioral health services including:
Psychiatric evaluations and medication management
Depression and anxiety treatment
ADHD and behavioral disorder management
PTSD and trauma-related care
Substance use treatment support
Stress management
Behavioral Health APPs provide specialized psychiatric services in an outpatient setting for patients with acute and chronic mental health conditions. Responsibilities include psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, treatment planning, and ongoing care coordination.
Essential Functions
Perform psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic psychiatric conditions
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications appropriately
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated
Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, nursing staff, and care teams
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, and treatment plans
Document patient encounters accurately within the medical record
Participate in departmental meetings and quality initiatives
