We are actively searching for a Litigation Paralegal to join our team in Charlotte, NC. Our paralegals play a vital role on our case teams and are respected for their ideas and contributions. Responsibilities: Prepare, edit and proofread a variety of documents (correspondence, agreements and pleadings) Work with attorneys to keep litigation advancing in each case Assist attorneys with discovery, including discovery requests, depositions and issuing subpoenas Assist with document review and analysis Manage electronic case files using a document management system (iManage) to ensure information is organized and easy to locate Prepare for trial (including compiling trial materials, coordinating witnesses, preparing and issuing trial subpoenas, preparing exhibits Gather and analyze complex medical records needed to prepare medical chronology Basic Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in any discipline, Paralegal Certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience Litigation experience required Must be familiar with and able to follow client billing guidelines, enter and record accurate billing entries Preferred Qualifications: Thorough, diligent, personable and highly motivated Capable of responding quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities Able to anticipate challenges and exercise independent judgment to make sound decisions Comfortable with learning new technology and processes Firm and Office Culture: - Small office, friendly experience (approximately 20 people) with the resources and benefits of a big firm - In-office support services readily available including a dedicated Legal Administrative Assistant, a Case Assistant to support your work, and copy and mail services - Office events which include an off-site summer party, holiday event, and numerous in-office activities to get to know your colleagues and often give back to the local community Benefits: We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package including everything you'd expect -- medical, dental, and vision insurance; firm paid life insurance and short and long-term disability; retirement savings plan with employer profit sharing contributions, bonus programs and more.
