Provides evaluation, treatment, and management of acute and chronic phases of illness in patients at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center; management includes assessment of physical symptoms, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, and prescribing medications. Provides continued care throughout the patient's medical journey. Educates and mentors Advanced Practice Provider I and additional clinical staff including, nursing, residents, fellows, and other healthcare interns and students.
Advanced Practice Provider I:
The starting annual salary for this title is $112,528 with an additional geographic differential of $8,510. This can also include a full comprehensive benefits package.
Advanced Practice Provider II:
The starting annual salary for this title is $124,614 with an additional geographic differential of $8,510. This can also include a full comprehensive benefits package.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience for Advanced Practice Provider I:
Nurse Practitioner Educational Path:
License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York; and
Current New York State Nurse Practitioner certification; and
Certification or eligibility for certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or other national certifying body recognized by Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA); and
Master's or higher-level degree in Nursing.
OR
Physician Assistant Educational Path:
License to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of New York; and
Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission for Certification of Physicians Assistants (NCCPA) or other national certifying body recognized by the New York State Education Department; and
Bachelor's or higher-level degree in Physician Assistant Studies; or
Bachelor's or higher-level degree and completion of a Physician Assistant Certificate Program recognized by the New York State Education Department.
NOTE:
As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain and maintain certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of their appointment to this title.
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Required Education and Experience for Advanced Practice Provider II:
The equivalent of two (2) years of full-time progressively responsible Advanced Practice Provider experience in a service line at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center or at a cancer care or acute care facility recognized as comparable by Roswell Park.
