Primary Department, Division, or Unit: Inpatient Physical Therapy, UHS Wilson Medical Center Primary Work Shift: Day Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Compensation Range: $40.70 - $61.05 per hour, depending on experience ----- Sign-On Bonus: Up to a $15,000 sign-on bonus for candidates who meet eligibility criteria. Talk with your recruiter to learn more. Job Responsibilities: Comprehends, interprets, and follows medical prescriptions for Physical Therapy. Applies the accepted principles, methods, and procedures of measurement, prediction, and evaluation tests to assess patient's strengths and limitations, and assists patient to achieve objective short and long term goals. Demonstrates knowledge of side effects and complications of services provided. Administers and interprets clinical physical therapy services for assigned patients. Adjusts treatments according to patient's response to planned physical therapy treatment protocol. Maintains accurate records of each patient's treatment, progress, and/or regression according to the Service Delivery Standard using paper or electronic systems, as necessary. Maintains all necessary records required to meet the criteria established by reimbursement and regulatory agencies. Establishes and maintains effective working relationship with patients, their families, and other staff personnel. Participates in patient care conferences with other professionals involved in the management of cases. Provides patient and family education, as needed. Participates in planning decisions for patient's post-discharge placement. Makes appropriate referrals and follows up to ensure proper placement and programming of patient. Interfaces with vendor to provide needed durable medical equipment. Provides direction to Physical Therapist Assistants, departmental support staff, departmental clerical staff (as duties relate to treatment), physical therapy students, and volunteers. Has knowledge of and participates in departmental and organizational initiatives for performance improvement (PI). Pursues professional development and contributes to department learning. Position Qualifications: Minimum Required: Graduate of an accredited school of physical therapy, receiving applicable degree in physical therapy study with Bachelors or Master's Degree or equivalent. Possession of a current license or eligibility to be licensed as a Physical Therapist in the State of New York.
