The ARC Senior Analyst is accountable for ensuring that all internal and external accounting and reporting activities in scope of the operations are prepared in accordance with FRS and all bp/Castrol policies and procedures in a timely, accurate and complete manner for the designated entities as well as accountable for the financial integrity, control and compliance of accounting services!
Job Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and analyze financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing activities.
Implement and review core accounting processes such as journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis. Find opportunities for process efficiency, standardization, and digital automation.
Interpret and apply accounting policies in alignment with internal controls, corporate guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Support the maintenance and strengthening of business process controls and documentation.
Prepare/Assist in preparation of statutory financial documents in accordance with local GAAP and legal requirements, liaise with external auditors during interim and year‑end audits, providing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
Perform financial data analysis to generate insights that support operational and strategic decision‑making, using digital tools and analytics platforms.
Identify and recommend improvements to accounting, reporting, and statutory processes. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and governance.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, applying a customer‑centric approach to financial inquiries and reporting needs.
Role Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting or related field.
Recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g. MIA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA).
Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in general and/or financial accounting with strong knowledge of external financial reporting regulation, Group Reporting Manual and tax accounting.
Shared service center experience.
External Audit experience.
