You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: Have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience in 1. Providing expert technical guidance on safety and occupational health principles for high-risk military training operations, including live-fire exercises, demolitions, and special operations tactics (e.g., SFAUC, AMOUT). 2. Developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive safety programs and standards for specialized activities such as airborne operations (e.g., HALO, HAHO), maritime operations (e.g., diving, maritime delivery systems), and aviation operations (e.g., rappelling, FAST rope). 3. Conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, and accident investigations for complex training environments, and preparing detailed reports with findings and recommendations to correct unsafe acts or conditions. 4. Serving as a technical authority on safety matters by advising senior leadership and ensuring safety standards are integrated into all phases of training, planning, and execution in compliance with Federal, DoD, and Army regulations. 5. This experience must demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of Special Operations Forces (SOF) training techniques and the ability to develop innovative safety solutions for hazardous and non-standard training scenarios. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Some positions allow education as a substitution, this position is based on experience only.
