Commodity Trader (International Trade)

About the role

We are looking for anexperienced Commodity Trader to manage international tradingactivities, grow client portfolios and drive profitable deals in petrochemicalsand soft commodities. The ideal candidate is resourceful, well-connected in theindustry and has the capability to conclude trades independently with speed,accuracy, and strong risk discipline.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and execute sales & purchase contracts , ensuring compliance with international trade regulations
• Manage end-to-end trading operations , from sourcing, negotiation, execution to final delivery and payment
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, buyers, brokers, shipping companies , and other industry partners
• Monitor global petrochemical and soft commodity markets to identify trading opportunities , manage price risks, and ensure profitable performance
• Coordinate closely with internal teams (operations, logistics, finance, risk) to ensure smooth transaction flow
• Expand trading networks and explore new markets across Asia, Middle East, Africa, and Europe.

Requirements

• Education
• Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Business Administration, Economics , Agribusiness, or related fields.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in commodity trading (petrochemicals, soft commodities or other bulk commodities)
• Proven record in managing international trade flows independently and generating consistent profits
• Existing client/supplier network is a must
• Skills & Competencies
• Strong understanding of petrochemical and soft commodities supply chains , market trends, freight, and pricing mechanisms
• Excellent negotiation, analytical , and risk management skills
• Strong commercial mindset with the ability to make fast, informed decisions
• Proficiency in trade documentation, incoterms, and contract management
• Language
• Proficiency in both English and Mandarin (Spoken, written and reading) to communicate effectively in a multicultural and internationally diverse business environment
• Personal Attributes
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• High resilience, ability to work under pressure, and results-oriented mindset
• Entrepreneurial, proactive, and able to work independently
• Other Requirements
• Must be based in Singapore
• Willing to travel for business when required
• Immediate availability preferred
