Role and Team The Vehicle Inspection Manager is responsible for developing and directing a high-performing team that will exceed expectations and provide exceptional customer service experience. You will maintain a strong understanding of operational needs and processes. This position will report to the manager designated by the General Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the at-auction point person for vehicle inspections
  • Influence and lead others as a people, customer, and business manager
  • Support financial growth by participating in financial statement review
  • Develop strong partnerships with corporate teams to implement and ensure compliance with all company initiatives, policies, and procedures
  • Support operational administration to move vehicles through the process with strong understanding of processes, collaboration across the organization and communication internally
  • Engage with customers and employees in a transparent, reliable, and positive manner
  • Demonstrate knowledge of products and services and maximize our technology
  • Know, practice, and ensure that company policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal laws are always followed
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the systems that are used daily to complete inspections and achieve internal and external Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  • Responsible for driving operational performance of the inspection team.
  • Responsible for input and development of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) within the group to ensure operational and financial goals are accomplished within the designated region.
  • Directly responsible for coordinating Vehicle Inspectors to complete tasks as directed by management.
  • Directly responsible for developing teams capable of delivering exceptional inspection services. Oversee the direct efforts to train, motivate, coach, counsel, and mentor Vehicle Inspectors, including conducting performance management activities.
  • Perform coaching with direct reports regularly.
  • Ensure proper follow-through on all directives, bulletins, and schedules from designated manager, or other corporate sources.
  • Conduct employee meetings frequently to communicate Company and department issues and build teamwork among the employees. Maintain a good flow of communication.
  • Evaluate expenses, ensuring staffing levels are consistent with workloads and expenses are legitimate business purposes and in accordance with ADESA policies and standards.
  • Conduct interviews and hire.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with inspection stakeholders.
  • Ensure that Vehicle Inspectors meet or exceed metrics as assigned by Auction management and corporate leadership.
  • Participate in the validation and review of training programs.
  • Assist the Operations group in budget preparation as related to volumes and headcount.
  • Responsible for evaluation and suggesting procedural, informational and product improvements; follow through on the development of those improvements as directed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Inspection services/auction experience preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership/supervisory experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
