Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Development, the Senior Manager, Strategic Finance will be responsible for the analytical rigor that underpins our long-term growth strategy. This role involves transforming complex market and raw internal data into actionable insights, bridging the gap between historical reporting and future growth initiatives. An ideal candidate would have a background in strategic finance, equity research, investment banking, valuation advisory or private equity, with a deep foundation in advanced financial modeling and data analytics. This role reports to: Vice President, Corporate Development This role is hybrid (3-5 days/week in the office) - based in Toronto, ON Key Accountabilities: Build and maintain a driver-based long-term financial model to support strategic and capital structure decision-making Develop standardized business case / valuation frameworks to ensure consistent evaluation of opportunities across the enterprise Develop deeper client analytics, including the methodology for calculating recurring revenue metrics across our various business units Create, backtest, and report on sophisticated enterprise-level composite scorecards Conduct post-acquisition reviews to track quantitative benefits / synergy realization and calculate investment returns Establish and maintain comprehensive strategic benchmarking and market intelligence analyzing peer performance, valuation multiples, TSR drivers, shifts in revenue mix, etc. Identify, analyze and quantify emerging trends and market dynamics that could cause fundamental shifts in the competitive landscape Support M&A deal processes with customer analytics, forecasting and competitive benchmarking Lead high-impact ad-hoc financial analyses and special projects as directed by executive leadership to address emerging business challenges Serve as a strategic finance partner for cross-functional initiatives, providing advanced modeling and analytical oversight for non-routine or enterprise-wide strategic decisions Create the Strategic Finance playbook by establishing best practices and standards in modeling processes and methodologies, while driving automation and continuous improvement Must Have(s): Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related field Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic finance, equity research (fintech/financials focus), investment banking, valuation advisory or private equity Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, the Capital IQ Pro plug-in and Google Sheets Proven ability to leverage AI tools / technology to drive automation and efficiency Deep understanding of valuation, financial statement analysis, advanced financial modeling and data analytics Ability to collaborate and communicate across every level of the enterprise, building trusted partnerships with key stakeholders and ensuring alignment A self-starter who thrives in high-pressure environments and can deliver accurate and impactful deliverables, and can distill complex data and comprehensive findings into executive level summaries Note: Short-listed candidates will be required to complete a live case study to demonstrate technical proficiency and modeling speed as part of the evaluation process. Nice to Have(s): Preference for a dual degree in Data Science or Computer Science, MBA, CFA, CPA or CBV designations Experience with SQL, PowerQuery and visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI, QuickSight or Looker Studio would be an asset Salary Range: $135,000/year - $165,000/year CAD Please note that the salary range included is a guideline only.
