You will be responsible for ensuring that Rolls-Royce has sufficient oversight for our products to meet business, customer, and regulatory requirements; you will:
Review and agree high level automation requirements including their testability.
Analyse and translate high level requirements into a validated design for automation components.
Capture applicable design constraints and quality attributes that apply to the component.
Interface between external and internal customers, to elicit and validate all stakeholder requirements including business, technical customers, and partners.
Design and implement automation designs to meet the high-level requirements and design constraints/standards.
Allocate automation requirements to test vehicles defined in the verification plan.
Create an appropriate Enterprise Architecture solution which serves both business and technical needs.
Develops, implements, documents, and maintains policies, procedures, associated guidelines, tools, and training as required.
Creation of documents e.g. Functional Design Specification (FDS), Control and Monitoring Description (CMD), Test Specifications and Operator/Maintenance Manuals.
Experience in implementing System Safety e.g. FMEA, FMECA, Risk Analysis, etc.
Liaises with other disciplines to understand functional performance capabilities of components of the system to facilitate effective component design.
Set the Systems Engineering and Verification approach for an Engineering Programme through the Configuration Management Plan.
Clarification and Definition of serial communication interfaces between the Rolls-Royce Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) and 3rd party systems.
Experience in PLC application software design and understand programming languages such as C/C++, Structured Text (ST), etc. and must be open to learn the WINMON language.
Experience in Human-Machine Interface (HMI) design
Position Qualifications:
Be qualified to Degree level in electrical engineering or similar disciplines or be able to demonstrate equivalent competence and industry experience.
At least 3 years or more professional experience in electrical engineering, designing automation systems and the management of projects / programs of increasing complexity.
Significant domain knowledge and experience of naval or marine automation and control systems.
Has experience in all stages of a project lifecycle and has been responsible for the delivery of one or more of those stages.
Be able to work dynamically and respond to evolving objectives and emerging opportunities while working in coordination with a multidisciplinary, energetic team of engineers.
Preferred requirements:
Knowledge and experience of delivering systems complying with naval and marine standards, specifications and safety standards.
Good time management skills able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Possess of good communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
