  • Nevada : Must apply for Pharmacy Technician Trainee License

As a Pharmacy Technician Trainee , you will learn on-the-job the key role Pharmacy Techs play in supporting patient care. You'll partner closely with pharmacists and fellow technicians to prepare prescriptions, coordinate medication access, and support patients every step of the way. Job Function The Pharmacy Technician Trainee demonstrates consistent application of knowledge and skills in assisting the pharmacist in the execution of appropriate, safe, efficient, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care. Essential Functions The incumbent participates in many procedural aspects of pharmacy practice under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and is an integral part of the pharmacy team. Caregivers in this position will receive paid on the job training and are expected to practice in compliance with pharmacy technician trainee licensure. The Pharmacy Technician Trainee will be enrolled in an approved program and complete coursework to become a licensed pharmacy technician. Upon completion of the program the trainee is required to submit for licensure. It is expected that any trainee will complete coursework within one year of starting the program. Technician trainee will be paid for practical experience. Didactic coursework will be completed by the technician trainee outside of working hours and is not compensated. Trainee may be required to work weekends, nights, and holidays. The Pharmacy Technician Trainee will prepare medication orders, receive prescriptions, complete required paperwork, assist with billing, stock medication, and deliver medication to patients. Supports patients, pharmacists, pharmacy students, pharmacy technicians, and other healthcare professionals in relevant areas of responsibility. Communicates effectively with all caregivers and stakeholders regarding responsibilities and identified concerns.
