Inside the Role Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) is seeking a motivated and innovative User Experience (UX) Supervisor to lead a shared UX service that drives cohesive, modern, user-centered digital experiences across the organization. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for leading a team of UX designers and design engineers; setting the UX direction, mentoring and growing the team, and partnering with Product, Marketing, Engineering, and business stakeholders to create world-class digital experiences for DTNA. We Take Care of Our Team What You Drive at DTNA Strategy, Leadership, and Team Management: Drive the UX strategy across the organization, aligning experiences to a cohesive vision, interaction patterns, and brand standards across web and mobile. Lead, manage, and mentor a team of 3-5 UX designers/UX engineers; set clear expectations, provide coaching and feedback, and support professional development. Establish team operating rhythms and standards (intake, discovery, design reviews, handoff, and iteration) to deliver consistently high-quality work across multiple concurrent initiatives. Maintain an outside-in perspective by monitoring industry UX trends and best practices and applying them to modernize DTNA's digital experiences. Partner with product teams to define research goals, metrics, and criteria; providing the methodologies and frameworks needed to surface customer needs, root problems, and validate solution direction at every stage of discovery. Balance strategic leadership with hands-on contribution as needed (player/coach), especially for high-impact experiences and cross-portfolio alignment. Design Execution & Delivery Lead end-to-end experience design across websites, portals, applications, and mobile apps; translating user needs and business requirements into user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs. Ensure design intent is implemented accurately by partnering with Engineering on feasibility, accessibility, performance considerations, and quality. Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders (directors, product owners, project managers, and technical teams) and incorporate feedback appropriately. Design Systems and Consistency at Scale Facilitate and promote the creation and evolution of a design system (components, patterns, tokens, guidelines) to increase consistency and speed across products and teams. Establish governance for component usage and contribution, including documentation and adoption across varied platforms (web/mobile) and technology stacks. UX Research & Validation Champion user-centered methods (personas, journeys, experience maps) and ensure research informs roadmap and design decisions. Oversee usability testing and validation; drive iteration based on evidence and measurable outcomes. AI-enabled Design Practice Lead adoption of AI-assisted UX workflows (e.g., agentic orchestration and Figma Make) to accelerate discovery, ideation, prototyping, and design-to-development handoff while maintaining human-centered craft and quality. Establish responsible AI guidelines (privacy/IP, accessibility, bias/ethics, review checkpoints) and mentor the team in effective, consistent usage. Experience Measurement & Analytics Define a practical UX measurement approach for key customer journeys (events, funnels, drop-off points, and success signals). Own UX KPIs and performance metrics using Google Analytics to assess experience effectiveness and guide product and design decisions. Translate quantitative and qualitative insights into clear recommendations and prioritized improvements. Knowledge You Should Bring Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Interaction Design, Psychology, Design, Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field, and 5+ years of experience in end-to-end user-centric design, with proven leadership and mentoring abilities, is required Expertise in creating user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and design mockups to conceptualize and implement new product features using UX design, interaction design, and UI principles. Strong ability to articulate complex design concepts and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
