Apply today and help us shape the future of work-together What is the role This role is open for candidates based in Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle, and Brisbane. The Cybersecurity Lead drives the design and delivery of cybersecurity solutions for New Era's clients, acting as both a technical expert and trusted advisor. The role bridges technical execution and client outcomes, supports pre-sales by shaping solutions and communicating value, and champions cybersecurity awareness, guidance, and compliance alongside the Solutions Group. Other key responsibilities include but may not be limited to following: Engage with clients to understand business needs, risks, and cybersecurity requirements Lead solution workshops, technical discussions, and client presentations Design scalable, secure solutions aligned to frameworks (e.g. NIST, ISO 27001, Essential Eight) Support pre-sales, including scoping, solution design, and proposals Act as a trusted advisor, translating technical concepts into business outcomes Develop architecture designs, roadmaps, and security strategies Champion cybersecurity awareness, compliance, and best practices internally Collaborate with engineering teams to embed security into solutions Lead incident response, risk assessments, and security investigations Provide technical leadership, escalation support, and mentoring engineers Conduct vulnerability assessments, threat hunting, and security audits Maintain up-to-date knowledge of threats, tools, and best practices Who we are looking for Successful candidate must possess: Must have 5+ years' experience in cybersecurity, including solution design or pre-sales exposure Strong client-facing experience with the ability to lead discussions and influence outcomes Experience working in a Cyber Security team Solid infrastructure and networking knowledge (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP), with hands-on troubleshooting experience Familiarity with key technologies such as Cisco/FortiGate, Microsoft/Azure, VMware/Hyper-V, backup solutions, and security frameworks Experience in incident response, remote support, and working within cybersecurity teams Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills Team-oriented mindset and ability to work under pressure Excellent interpersonal, problem solving as well as logical and lateral thinking capacity Passion for cybersecurity, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing Relevant tertiary qualification and cybersecurity certifications (Microsoft, VMware, Veeam, Citrix a plus) Solutions Architecture, Pre-sales experience is desirable
