Daily price change review across universe of holdings as well as providing these reports to the portfolio management teams
Daily reconciliations of both the risk management system and the accounting system, making certain both systems are in sync, and updating when an override is necessary.
Provide select fund administrators with pricing data in order to assist them with striking a NAV for their funds.
Daily communication with pricing vendors on pricing challenges and querying their universe
Monthly collection of vendor and dealer prices and aggregation in the pricing database.
Monthly participation in portfolio valuation process
Receive, document, and maintain pricing support for audit purposes and historical records.
Onboard new 3rd party coverage for internally modelled positions.
Daily communication with 3rd party valuation services regarding valuation coverage and challenges.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
5+ years of relevant experience in valuation control, risk management, product control, fund administration, securities pricing/valuation, data management, operations, or audit within the financial services sector
Solid knowledge of valuation procedures and techniques across diverse asset classes equities, fixed income, derivatives, structured products, and private assets
Familiarity with IFRS, US GAAP, Rule 2a-5, and relevant financial regulatory frameworks
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis capabilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present reports to senior stakeholders
Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis tools, including Microsoft Excel (VBA, macros), Aladdin (or like), and open-source AI tools
Experience serving as a liaison for external auditors and regulators
Direct experience in Valuation Control / Governance functions
Experience within asset management firms, hedge funds, private equity, or fund-of-funds environments
Working knowledge of Bloomberg, WSO, Aladdin, ICE, Rimes, or similar platforms
Knowledge or exposure to SQL, Alteryx, Python or Power BI

Position Summary
Valuation (Pricing) is responsible for overseeing valuation controls, policies, and governance within the Operations team. This role ensures accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance of fair value reporting while maintaining robust internal controls and upholding GI's governance and policy standards. The Senior Associate provides analytical insights into the organization's fair value results, acts as the primary point of contact for valuation governance activities, and partners cross-functionally with Front Office, IT, Risk, Finance, Audit, Fund Administrators, and Custodians. This role is based in our Chicago office, full-time.
