About the role
You'll own how Valkai turns frontier AI into the agents that life sciences teams rely on every day-AI agents that become daily drivers of critical drug development workflows, compressing timelines from months to days. This is a builder's role: you'll partner directly with our engineers, AI Strategists, and customers to build and ship AI agents. You'll live at the intersection of customer and product-translating what we learn in the field into product requirements and roadmap, prototyping new agent capabilities, and shipping the features your customers need to succeed. You'll define what gets built, why it matters, and how we know it's working. The work spans the full arc of building an agent. In a given week, that might mean: Partnering with Engineering to build a new product capability to unlock a new agent use case Running a working session with a customer to redesign a process around an agentic workflow Writing and testing prompt logic for a specific customer use case Aligning a customer's executive team on their AI agent roadmap
Responsibilities
- Shape the product roadmap: Work with Engineering to scope, prioritize, and implement the new agent capabilities and platform features essential to your customers' success, balancing customer impact against technical feasibility and driving them from concept to launch.
- Define and measure success: Set requirements, test outputs, and validate success criteria for new agent builds. Establish the metrics that tell us an agent is genuinely delivering value-and use them to drive the roadmap.
Requirements
- Thoughtful problem solvers: You break unstructured customer challenges into concrete product plans, and you think critically about both business impact and technical feasibility.
- Builders who own outcomes: You take pride in what you ship and hold yourself accountable for the value it creates-adoption, time saved, ROI-not just the feature shipping.
- Not ideological about solutions: Every solution is a tradeoff to you. You learn new AI capabilities quickly and stay receptive to better ways to solve customer problems.
- Strong communicators: You convey complex technical concepts clearly to both non-technical and highly technical audiences, including recent AI developments and executive stakeholders.
- Comfortable with ambiguity: You turn loose goals into concrete roadmaps and execution plans, and you create measurable impact without waiting to be told how.
- 2-5+ years of product management experience building highly technical products.
- A track record of owning a product roadmap and shipping technical products end-to-end with engineering teams.
- Hands-on fluency with how AI agents behave-prompting, evaluation, and guardrails-with the judgment to shape agent design, not just write specs for it.
- Experience crafting and tailoring a message for customers, including executives.
- Degree in a technical or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- NICE TO HAVE'S
- Familiarity with AI/LLM capabilities and deployment patterns, and an understanding of governance and compliance in regulated environments.
- Some hands-on coding ability (e.g., React, TypeScript, Python/Go) to prototype and partner closely with Engineering.
- Experience in life sciences, healthcare, pharma, or other regulated industries.
