The civil litigation position offers a wide range of challenging litigation work, manages various phases of litigation for assigned cases, all phases of discovery, appears before state and federal courts, performs legal research, drafts pleadings, motions and briefs, conducts depositions, develops facts, makes legal arguments, reports case updates to managing attorney and clients in defense of our clients. This position will develop strategies for litigated matters, including commercial, regulatory, product liability, premises liability, motor vehicle negligence, personal injury, construction defect, professional liability, and insurance-coverage matters. Experience in the areas of commercial litigation, insurance defense, professional liability defense, and/or construction defect litigation preferred but not required. Trial and deposition experience is a plus. Strong writers with deposition and mediation experience preferred. Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal skills, have strong research, writing and verbal communication skills and be able to work independently. Prefer candidates that are organized and self-motivated. Physical Demands: Position requires sitting for more than 2/3 of the time Position requires ability to focus on a computer monitor for extended periods of time Position requires a small amount of bending and reaching to access supplies and equipment Position requires enough mobility to move from one area of the office to another at a moderate pace periodically Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds on occasion Work is performed in an office environment with a modest level of noise Work Environment: Indoor Office Setting
