AECOM is seeking a highly experienced on-site Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector to support the US Army Corps of Engineers for multiple complex vertical construction projects at West Point, in New York. The QA Inspector will be responsible for ensuring contractor compliance with contract plans, specifications, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements. Responsibilities include continuous monitoring of construction progress, detailed inspection of work performed by the General Contractor and all subcontractors, and proactive identification of deficiencies to help maintain quality, safety, and schedule adherence. Job Responsibilities are as follows Perform construction quality assurance (QA) across Three Phase Inspection (Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-Up phases) to ensure compliance with contract requirements, schedules, and safety plans. Monitor construction progress, attend meetings, evaluate schedule adherence, and support the COR in validating progress payments. Provide full-time on-site inspection coverage during all construction activities to ensure compliance by the Construction Contractor and subcontractors. Observe worksite activities to verify quality control, safety compliance, and diligent execution of construction operations. Identify, document, and report deficiencies, maintaining and submitting deficiency lists to the CO/COR. Witness inspections and testing, review third-party test results, and perform QA validation testing as required. Report unsatisfactory work within required timeframes and ensure corrective actions are properly executed. Assist with project closeout by documenting inspections, managing punch lists, and supporting final payment recommendations. Prepare and submit daily reports documenting construction activities, workforce, conditions, and compliance status. Minimum Requirements: HS + 10 Years of relevant experience in construction practices, procedures, and testing, to include three (3) years of quality control management of DoD construction projects. Due to the nature of the project US citizenship is required Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background checks. Projects/clients are security sensitive. Must pass pre-employment drug screen. Up to 50% of the time the position needs to move about indoor and outdoor construction site environments with uneven terrain, variable environmental conditions including heat, dusts, noise, moisture, and dryness Occasionally (10-25% of workday) performing repetitive bending/stooping, repetitive or fine hand movements, working at heights, and lifting and carrying equipment weighing less than 25 pounds At times the position requires working with arms above shoulder level, power gripping/squeezing (hand tools, levers, etc.), climbing stairs, using portable ladders, wearing fall protection, working in confined spaces, and lifting greater than 25 pounds The position requires wearing associated personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to gloves, safety glasses/goggles, face shield, safety shoes/boots, hard hat, hearing protection, and fall protection Preferred Requirements: Strong knowledge of construction QA/QC processes, including the three phases of control (Preparatory, Initial, Follow-Up). Familiarity with contract documentation, including RFIs, submittals, schedules, change orders, and progress payment evaluations. Demonstrated experience conducting inspections, witnessing testing, and interpreting third-party test results. Proficiency in construction management software and documentation systems (e.g., Procore, RMS, or similar platforms). Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of detailed daily reports and technical documentation. Ability to work independently on-site while coordinating effectively with Government stakeholders and contractors. Experience supporting project closeout activities, including punch list management and final inspections. Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required to support project completion.
