About the role
Reporting to clinical leadership and with daily direction from the unit Resource person, the Perioperative Services Assistant will work in conjunction with and under the guidance of the registered nurses, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists to support and provide care to the surgical patient. The duties of the Perioperative Services Assistant will include, but not be limited to, cleaning and turning over rooms between procedures, restocking OR and anesthesia supplies, assisting with anesthesia access lines and equipment, assisting with lifting and positioning of patients, assembling and troubleshooting equipment, gathering and opening needed supplies for cases, acting as a runner for items during cases, transporting specimens and/or blood products to and from the lab, and performing quality assurance activities. Education High school or equivalent (GED). Certification, Registration & Licensure Certification required: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification, or equivalent course credentialed by American Heart Association, within three months of hire. Medical Technician registration required within three months of hire for Concord Hospital; Registered Pharmacy Technician required upon hire for Concord Hospital - Laconia.
